Success Stories
TycoNova
TychoNova is a web-based research platform we developed to provide users with powerful tools for combining Screening and Event-Driven Analysis within custom Dashboards. The platform allows users to create detailed, data-driven insights by setting up screening criteria based on both fundamental and technical analysis events. For example, a user could search for large-cap tech stocks that have recently crossed above their 52-week moving average, using predefined criteria to narrow down results. Each Dashboard presents organized, actionable data, with the flexibility to explore technical analysis details for a variety of assets, including stocks, commodities, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies.
One of TychoNova’s standout features is the T-Score, a composite metric we designed to summarize technical analysis across multiple indicators. Users can apply specific weights to days and indicators within the analysis window, with T-Scores ranging from -100 (strong downward trend) to 100 (strong upward trend), clustering around zero. Additionally, the Net T-Score adjusts for market bias by incorporating a stock’s BETA, giving a clearer perspective on price pressure and trends. This scoring system simplifies complex technical analysis, offering a snapshot view of market sentiment tailored to each user’s criteria. TychoNova is a versatile tool for those looking to gain insights through customized dashboards and targeted event-driven screening.
TychoEDA
TychoEDA serves as the event-driven analysis tool within TychoNova, designed to help users explore historical patterns and trends in stock movements. We developed TychoEDA to allow users to identify specific conditions in stock data—like moving average crossovers or behavior around options expiration dates—making it easier to analyze recurring events and their outcomes.
The core of TychoEDA is built around three main areas. The Event Builder window allows users to define custom event criteria based on dates or price patterns, offering a flexible way to conduct in-depth analysis. The Analog Best area identifies historical periods that most closely match recent price trends, making it easy to spot similar past conditions. Finally, the File area provides tools to manage saved queries, review results, and upload custom datasets. TychoEDA is designed to simplify event-driven analysis, allowing users to uncover meaningful patterns and insights within financial data.
