HJS is currently contracted to rewrite a homegrown Microsoft Access mining projects database into a web-based solution hosted in a Windows infrastructure. The projects database is essential for mission-critical capital budgeting and planning activities, as well as generating detailed reports.
The updated system includes data entry forms with validation, query forms, capital allocation calculations, and printable/exportable reports. It also supports importing data from external databases into tables for updates and reporting. Over twenty standardized reports can be generated in both PDF and Excel formats.
Project managers can enter monthly reports for ongoing projects and trigger data updates using actual values imported from external operations databases.
The original Access database has become increasingly difficult to maintain and enhance. HJS proposed the web-based rewrite to address these challenges, leveraging IIS for front-end hosting, a Node.js backend server, and SQL Server for data management. The client-side code utilizes Angular, a TypeScript-based framework, ensuring a modern, responsive user experience.
